Zebra Technologies Introduces Advanced RFID Firmware

Zebra Technologies releases an advanced RFID Firmware Update for the RZ400/RZ600 printers. The update to the RZ series printers enhances traditional compliance labeling by offering customers additional printing applications such as item level tagging, package validation, document tracking, and product authentication.

This upgrade to Zebra's existing printers will help retailers optimize their supply chain
Zebra's RFID Firmware Update includes the following: 

- Provides the ability to print smaller labels 
- Allows for direct-to-inlay printing
- Increases printer throughput for faster, on-demand printing applications
- Reduces media material costs
- Reduces label waste as more labels can be printed per roll


 

Epicor Retail Unveils Next-Generation Optimization Software

Epicor Software releases MarkdownXpert, a next-generation optimization solution from Applied Intelligence Solutions (AIS) as part of its Epicor Retail Merchandising suite.

AIS's MarkdownXpert solution provides retailers with accurate, timely and granular information about consumer demand so they can optimize and streamline markdown practices. AIS utilizes advanced technologies that predict optimal timing and depth of markdown pricing strategies.

MarkdownXpert "learns" from each retailer's best practices over time to make recommendations that reflect the way items should be effectively reduced. As an extension of the retailer's established pricing program, the predictive tool provides an updated, modern method for managing revenue and margin optimization.

MarkdownXpert extends Epicor's Merchandising solution, which can analyze, order, price and distribute merchandise for maximum return on investments.


 

Grocery Kiosk Offers Mobile Phone Integration

A unique self-service grocery checkout terminal from Intel features mobile phone integration that lets shoppers send grocery lists to their phones and retrieve and scan electronic coupons. The graphic user interface also can be used as a kiosk that provides customers with a recipe look-up option. The kiosk provides effective cross-selling opportunities for the grocer, while also reducing transaction times. The kiosk features Intel vPro technology with Active Management Technology (AMT) that offers remote-manageability and an average energy cost savings of 70 percent compared to legacy POS systems.


 

iCongo's Virtual Marketer Offers Interactive Showcase for Web Events

iCongo releases its new Virtual Marketer (VM) module for its E-Commerce online systems and as a supplement to the company's E-marketing systems. Retailers using VM can host virtual events for conducting product demonstrations, seminars, training sessions and two way communications within their existing customer-facing online environments.

Available under a pay-as-you-go Software as a Service (SaaS) pricing model, Virtual Marketer can be inserted as needed in any E-commerce B2C or B2B site. VM presentations can be made available for any length of time, from one day to a week or longer - even indefinitely. Viewers can experience a presentation live or on-demand, giving sponsors a host of options for imparting information, encouraging a sale, or generating leads.

Live and recorded video is supported in VM as well as collateral download libraries containing brochures, images, charts and audio files. During a session, participants and /or customers can be allowed to initiate two-way private or public online conversations with sales or training support specialists via the built-in chatline.

VM also provides the ability to purchase products within the same iCongo-powered online environment. For example after viewing a retailer's presentation on BBQ grills with demonstrations from multiple manufacturers, customers can ask questions, make comparisons and immediately click on a specific product brand to make a purchase.
 


 

Godiva Chocolatier Debuts New Web Site, Expands Offerings

Godiva Chocolatier debuts the new Godiva.com which offers an expanded assortment of chocolate products and introduces a new selection of baked goods such as brownies and cupcakes. Godiva launched the newly designed site in conjunction with its e-commerce partner, Fry, a wholly owned subsidiary of MICROS Systems.

The redesigned site includes an expanded navigation that highlights the breadth of available products. Product pages have been enhanced to show more chocolate images, greater product detail, and visibility into the chocolate pieces inside each box.

The 'Share' feature on every page allows customers to forward Godiva favorites to friends, family, and associates through Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace, or via e-mail. All of these enhancements are supported by a new, streamlined checkout process that allows customers to make their purchases quickly and easily.
